Maverick

Emotional Support Animal

Maverick, an English Cream Golden Retriever, serves as a cherished emotional support animal at our clinic in Mahomet, Illinois. He is the loyal companion of mental health therapist Paula Koelbl, M.A., LPC, who has been his caregiver since he was an 8-week-old pup from Sugarcreek, Ohio.

Since the age of 10 weeks, Maverick has been a regular at the office, initially as an emotional support animal in training. His demeanor in the office is nothing short of calm, friendly, and inviting. He takes great joy in welcoming clients as they enter. During sessions, he brings a sense of warmth, comfort, and peace. When he's not busy, his favorite thing to do is look serenely out the window observing all the people and traffic.

Outside of office hours, Maverick’s playful side emerges. He loves running around outside, playfully teasing the household cats, and occasionally acting like a rebellious child by ignoring calls to come inside.

If you wish to have Maverick’s comforting presence during your sessions, please feel free to request his participation through our front desk staff.
