Mental Health Intern

Lexy Reed is an intern at our Danville office. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW).

She was drawn to this profession because of her passion for understanding people on a deeper level: who they are, how they got there, how they make sense of their experiences, and what makes life feel harder than it should.

Approach to Therapy

Her approach integrates CBT-informed techniques and trauma-informed care. Through empathy and open-mindedness, she aims to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves and honest with her and with themselves.

Lexy is interested in working with clients of all backgrounds across the lifespan and has particular interests in anxiety, depression, and neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism. She is also passionate about working with diverse and marginalized communities and is committed to providing affirming and culturally aware care.

For Fun

Outside of the therapy room, Lexy enjoys spending time in nature, playing pickleball, listening to music, and spending time with animals, especially her two cats, Goose and Millie.
