Jan is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, college professor and veteran of the United States Air Force. Jan's background in both mind and body gives her a unique and effective approach to counseling. Jan has a passion for empowering individuals to overcome personal obstacles, grief and past trauma. This allows them to integrate new skills and tools into their daily lives, improving their quality of life.
While Jan is trained in a variety of counseling interventions, she specializes in working with grief and bereavement, terminal illness, veterans and the elderly. Jan also works with clients struggling with depression and anxiety. Jan believes a supportive, caring and honest relationship with each client is of the utmost importance. Jan strives to maintain an open- minded consciousness throughout the therapy process.
Jan provides a non-judgmental and compassionate atmosphere so clients can work through feelings, thoughts, images and beliefs that may keep them stuck. Jan is eclectic in her approach and offers an integrated client- centered approach. Jan views therapy as collaborative and encourages her clients to be very active in their own treatment. When possible, Jan collaborates with the client’s medical provider for the best possible results.
