Felicia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been providing therapy since 2004. Her clinical experience includes working with children, teenagers and adults in school setting, residential treatment milieu, community mental health and most recently university counseling center.
Felicia graduated with a Bachelors in Social Science from the National University of Singapore majoring in Social Work, and obtained her Masters of Social Work from Washington University in St Louis with a specialization in school social work. While she was living in Chicago, Felicia had also extend her reach to the families of the clients whom she worked with through family therapy as well as parents support group on top of the individual and group therapy she provided. More recently, her work was focused on supporting individuals in distressed, and helping them to navigate through their college years as an emerging adult.
Felicia believes in empowering her clients to find their own answer in therapy as they journey together in this process of trust and growth. Her intervention model anchors on her respect for humanity and compassion for others while providing the utmost care for all her clients.
Felicia specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, crisis management, trauma, identity development, acculturation, family of origin, shame resilience, interpersonal relationships, and multicultural issues. Felicia is certified in Reality Therapy and have received training in Satir Family Therapy as well as Expressive Arts Therapy. Felicia integrates strengths perspective and embraces a person-centered approach in her therapy with her clients. She utilizes a broad range of eclectic approach such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interview, and Narrative Exposure Therapy to help her clients arrive at their goals of treatment.
As a lifelong learner, Felicia continues to incorporate newer training combine with her creativity to develop the treatment that best address the needs of her clients. Her working philosophy involves the parallel process of growth and holistic healing with her clients. She engages in self-care actively through creative outlets such a journaling, baking, and soaking in the beauty of nature. As a bilingual speaker, Felicia is also able to provide Mandarin counseling upon request.
